SYNOPSIS
"Funny, Fiery, sad and simply beautiful"
Running Time: 91 Minutes.
It is the glorious summer of 1936 and Europe is on the verge
of terrible change. In the little village of Ballybeg, County
Donegal, the Mundy sisters await the return of their brother
Jack, a missionary priest now returning to Ireland after
many years in Africa. The youngest sister, Christina has
a little boy Michael, her love child with an irrepressible
travelling salesman called Gerry Evans.
The devoutly Catholic Mundy sisters place the boy Michael
at the centre of their world, a world soon to be turned
upside down by the return of Jack and by the unexpected
arrival of Gerry Evans, on his way to fight the Fascists
in Spain.
The Eden of Ballybeg is changed forever but the memory
of that summer will always haunt Michael.
